Ingredients:
- 200 ml whole milk
- 150 g Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Roux:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute until smooth.
- Make the Sauce:
- Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
- Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Add the Cheese & Seasonings:
- Lower the heat and stir in the grated Cheddar cheese until fully melted.
- Add mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Serve Hot:
- Pour over crispy fries and enjoy!
Tip: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more milk to reach the desired consistency.
