Cheese Sauce for Fries

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml whole milk
  • 150 g Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Roux:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute until smooth.
  1. Make the Sauce:
  • Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
  • Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
  1. Add the Cheese & Seasonings:
  • Lower the heat and stir in the grated Cheddar cheese until fully melted.
  • Add mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  1. Serve Hot:
  • Pour over crispy fries and enjoy!

Tip: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more milk to reach the desired consistency.
