Sourdough Starter


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
    Instructions:

  1. In a clean glass jar or bowl, mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 1/2 cup of water.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar or honey to the mixture.
  3. Stir well until there are no dry lumps.
  4. Cover the jar loosely with a lid or a cloth.
  5. Leave it at room temperature for 24 hours.

  1. After 24 hours, feed the starter by adding 1/2 cup of flour and 1/4 cup of water. Stir well.

  1. Repeat the feeding every 24 hours for about 5 to 7 days until it becomes bubbly and has a pleasant sour smell.
  2. Once ready, you can use it to bake sourdough bread or store it in the fridge and feed it once a week.
