- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 slices of bread
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
- Whipped cream, for serving
 Directions
- In a mixing bowl, whip together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy and smooth.
- Take 4 slices of bread and generously spread the cream cheese mixture over them.
- Arrange the sliced strawberries evenly on top of the spread and cover with the remaining slices of bread to create sandwiches.
- Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: mix granulated sugar and flour in one, pour milk in another, and place breadcrumbs in the third.
- One at a time, dip each sandwich into the milk, then coat it thoroughly in the sugar-flour mixture, and finally, press it into the breadcrumbs.
- Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Carefully place the breaded sandwiches into the hot oil, frying until they are a beautiful golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Once fried, take them out and let them drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the sandwiches hot and add a dollop of whipped cream on top for an extra treat if desired.
